We are pleased to announce that the IoThree’s Company Microconference has been accepted into the 2021 Linux Plumbers Conference. As everyday devices start to become more connected to the internet, the infrastructure around it constantly needs to be developed. Linux is showing up more in products that are not normally considered to be computers, but now need to interact with a central location (cloud). This brings new challenges that need to be addressed.
Last’s years meetup produced the following:
- Support for LoRaWAN landed in both Zephyr and Linux
- Dual 2.4 GHz and SubGHz wireless support in Zephyr for CC13xx
- Multicast DNS service in Zephyr now enables cross-platform device discovery

- Real-Time (RT) Linux and Safety Critical (ELISA) projects
- Linux kernel / wpan-tools MAC Layer patch integration ongoing to support scanning, joining, forming networks
- The wpanusb module is close to being integrated in Linux to provide a common transceiver interface for RIOT OS, Zephyr and others
- Support for multiple network interface autoconfiguration in Zephyr
- Greybus pthread and dynamic thread stack support for Zephyr
- Greybus minimize socket / certificate overhead for Zephyr
